Casio watches have a storied pedigree, arising as they do from a supplier that has created so many industry “firsts” in its fairly limited presence. From very humble beginnings as a successful postwar manufacturer of cigarette lighter rings (this is Japan, after all, a land that loves all kinds of devices), the company went on to deliver the worlds first-ever all-electronic compact calculator, history’s 1st graphing calculator, and of course Casio watches. Long before any PDA, or Personal Digital Assistants, the company’s line of Casio Databanks featured calculation and informational storage right on the wrist. Later models even offered the days of the week in up to thirteen different languages – a truly nifty feat for the period!
